Need I say more? Okay, fine. There were probably other team members. I just wasn't aware of them.

Christmas '07

Why is it that short people always feel the need to stand on chairs for photos? Is it that they think nobody will notice?

Unnatural? Pshaw.

Some people think we have a somewhat unnatural relationship with our pets. I say that's pure hogwash.

Ollie's Birthday!

Today, Ollie is two. Here he is with Marissa on the first day we brought the little fella home from the shelter. Isn't he just the cutest?

Crazy Rabbit

This is what happens when you leave your animal at our house for the week. My friend's bunny, Max, was perfectly normal when he arrived.

Snowstorm

It was beautiful when the sun was out. Ollie ran himself ragged with his ball on a rope toy. Flipping it in the air and racing across the backyard with it. I believe he thinks it's chasing him as it bounces behind him.

If a dog can portray pure joy...this is it. Tireless joy.

Shoveling is not pure joy.

A really big snow expected tomorrow night. Can't wait.

Burt appears gleeful as his competitive instincts kick in and he pummels his opponent.

Nana actually asked to use my camera to take this photo.

Thanksgiving 2007

Kate and I were walking down Newbury Street and had this beautiful view.

Below is a sight RARELY seen. Katelyn is holding one of our animals AND enjoying it!!!! Oddly enough it's the one animal that is almost devoid of a personality. Interesting. Below on the right are Burt and Kate sitting at our dining room table after breakfast...too much technology???

Thanksgiving visit with Nana included some pretty heavy checker matches.

Nana quotes of the day..
"The best times of your life are when you have a wiry dog."
Then while playing checkers with Burt..(after her game with me).."It's nice to play with someone who has a brain." Thanks Mom.

Nana's new digs.. part two..

Nana had her hair "done" by the on site beauty shop and as you can see, it was a fruitful endeavor. Today was almost 60 degrees and beautiful in her courtyard. Ollie was a great therapy dog today. Lots of people hugged him and reminisced about former dogs and shared stories...some brought tears to me. It goes to show how important animals are in our health and well being.

Nana's New Digs

Nana has moved into a pretty cool rehab center. She does not share the facility with Brittany Spears although it is reported that yesterday they shared a similar drug withdrawal issue. This place has a live in dog and two cats and you can bring in pets for visits. There is also a huge fish tank and there is a bird living there. The outside garden has tons of squirrels , chipmunks and birds at the feeders. Oh yes, they have a good gym and good therapists to help her gain her skills back and they serve really good food apparently. (except the oatmeal) "eckk"
If she cooperates and they don't boot her out...it should be great!

Another Birthday...Eric turns one!

My nephew Jamie and his wife Rachell had a first birthday party for their baby Eric. Sadly ( especially for rachell;) it rained but it was still fun and so nice to see everyone.

Here is Phyllis and Burt....The last time I saw Phyllis was about a month ago or so and before that it had been many years. We were walking along a river in another state at night and suddenly I felt a sharp blow on my left shoulder. The woman almost knocked me down. As I staggered to steady myself...(okay fine..a slight exaggeration) I found myself uncharacteristically yelling..."I don't know you!" Still don't know why I chose those words. I really thought she was some confrontational lunatic. It turns out it was simply Phyllis!
Uncle Ed, Burt and my brother Gerry...

Rachell and Eric, the birthday boy, who looks less than thrilled about the whole event. It turns out wrapping paper tastes really good!

Phyllis and my sister Joan hug...Emily is in the background...and beside her is Melissa...she's really difficult to see because of her size;) Way in the back is Michelle with baby Paul.

Leigh with her boyfriend, Michael.

My brother Rick, the grampa of the birthday boy, and his children, Jamie and Leigh.
